Håveruds Hotell

The setting by the lake is stunning, and you can rent boats or stand-up paddle boards to explore it. The floating sauna looked lovely too, and the aqueduct is just a short walk away. We were there for a wedding, so the staff weren't all the usual team, but the service was still friendly. Our room was clean and bright, if a little hot in the summer weather.

The lake view at sunset was impressive, and the room was clean. Dinner was a delight, especially the schnitzel and its sides, and breakfast was lovely too, with a range of ham, berries, granola, and yogurt. Håveruds Hotell is about 2 km from the end of the Upperud stage, but the detour on the Pilgrim path is well worth it for the view, the facilities, and the owner's kindness. Many thanks to Kerstin for welcoming me so warmly and being so hospitable.

I felt completely safe here as a woman traveling alone, and Cecelia even went out of her way to drive me to the train station when I left. The family-run hotel is right on the lake, with breathtaking views, and Håverud aqueduct is within walking distance. Cecelia and Jonas are wonderful hosts, and the service was outstanding. I rented a kayak for a few hours, used an e-bike for a day, and tried a two-hour floating sauna session. Fresh breakfast is served each morning. I also had dinner here twice, and the burger and fries were phenomenal. The Håverud Hotell was the highlight of my Sweden trip. I'm sad to leave and can't wait to return.

What an amazing weekend spot. The views are breathtaking, and the service was so nice. They really went out of their way to make our stay and trek on the pilgrim path a perfect experience.
