The accommodation had recently been renovated, and it was clean when we stayed. But we had booked a 28 m² room with a king-size bed for two nights, then got a message an hour before arrival saying it had been upgraded. The room actually had a single bed and a folding bed, with no king-size bed. We measured it at 27 m², smaller than the room we had booked, so I can’t see what the upgrade was. We tried several times to reach the owner, since there’s no reception. He said no other room with a king-size bed was available. He could add another bed, though I’m not sure where, or cancel the accommodation at no charge. There weren’t any other hotels available within an hour’s drive, and certainly none at a regular price within hours of driving. We contacted check24, which had to get in touch with booking.com. After several calls back and forth, booking.com refunded only a very small part of the original room price. The owner’s communication was extremely poor. Only one of our ten attempts was answered, and booking.com couldn’t reach him either. Calling a single bed and a folding bed a king-size bed makes no sense, and what was described as an upgrade felt like a downgrade from what we ordered. The Wi-Fi connected to the router, but there was no internet beyond the router.

The apartment was spotless, modern, and comfortable, with everything we needed. Mörrum River Residence is right beside the river, in a beautiful, peaceful setting that’s great for relaxing and enjoying nature. The whole place feels calm and welcoming, and our stay exceeded expectations. We’d definitely return, and I’d recommend it to anyone after a quiet break somewhere scenic.

The room was spacious and good, and the breakfast was hard to judge since everyone wants different things on the table. For what I paid, I thought there was more than enough choice, and the food tasted as expected. The building has been recently renovated, while keeping some of its history, and those parts fit together well. The beds were a little small, and I couldn’t push them together because the bedside table was screwed to the wall. That may vary from room to room. It was also pretty noisy, especially from the corridor, so breakfast-hungry neighbors could wake you if you like to sleep in. Try for a room facing the river, since the other option is a very large window looking onto the asphalt parking lot. I’ve stayed in better and worse places. I think I got what I paid for, and don’t expect more than that.
