That quiet pause is what keeps bringing me back to Rosen Hill in Göteborg once or twice a year. It feels like a haven between the year’s hardest journeys, a gentle place to rest and recover. Wonderful place.

The rooms are spacious and really clean, and the hosts were friendly and helpful. It’s in a stunning spot, too. We found the price very reasonable, especially compared with other places. We’ll definitely stay here again on our next trip to Sweden.

There wasn’t a way to make drinks or food in the room, though I was allowed to use the hotel kitchen. I found another place with twice the comfort for only 350 SEK, so I wouldn’t recommend this one. I’d booked through Expedia in spring for 500 SEK, but when I arrived in October the price had been raised to 600 SEK, payable in cash. When I objected, I was told, “It’s changed...” Outrageous. I wasn’t given a receipt. I had no internet access while traveling, so I didn’t bother searching for somewhere else to stay.

The views were great, and I had a wonderful time.
