Sunlight Hotel Conference and Spa

The hotel’s entrance is easy to overlook, but inside I found a very pleasant place with excellent staff. I arrived late on Friday needing somewhere for one night. The two people at the desk patiently talked me through the options and let me sit on the sofa while I checked alternatives on my phone. They gave me space and treated me respectfully, which made a great first impression. I decided to stay. My room was comfortable and big enough, even if it wasn’t huge. The shower area was small, like in a typical Swedish apartment bathroom, but the clever layout meant I never felt squeezed in. The hotel was clean and calm, and I noticed the staff were friendly with each other too, which made it feel like a nice workplace. Breakfast was delicious and healthy, with everything prepared just right. Don’t miss the croissants and pancakes. I even went to compliment the chef. The restaurant was clean, the food and service were both excellent, and the atmosphere was relaxing. The pool is 25m long, plenty for proper laps, and the gym is huge. Both were clean and comfortable in temperature. Although the pool is next to the gym, the lighting means you can’t see into it from there. Even if you could, the machines face away from the pool. My only small suggestion would be brighter pool lighting, though it wasn’t a problem. Sara was at the desk the next morning, friendly and funny. She explained clearly how to get back to Stockholm, checked I’d booked correctly, and made sure I knew how to reach the train station. She was such a kind person with a lovely personality. For somewhere called Sunlight, I thought the interior lighting at night could be brighter. Maybe the staff are the ones who bring the sunlight. I’d stay here again if I’m back in the area.

We picked this hotel mostly so we could enjoy the pool with our kids, and that decision didn’t work out. Families get access only at certain hours, while public training sessions take up the rest of the time. Even in the family slots, members of the public can still come in. It was packed, and someone from the public even yelled at us while we were there with the kids. The whole thing spoiled our stay. If families are excluded at some times, there should be other hours reserved for families alone. The gym and pool are both open to the public and were so crowded that we barely used them. Breakfast was average and had very little choice, and the bathroom didn’t feel clean enough for a four-star hotel. We didn’t think the stay was worth the money, and I wouldn’t recommend it to families hoping to use the pool or gym.

Such a cosy, nice place. The 25m pool and fitness center workout are included, and there’s a spa if you want to pay a bit extra. 🤗😃😁

Dinner and breakfast were the real highlights, especially the hamburger with caramelized onions. Both were exceptional. We had a pleasant stay at this spa hotel, with a spacious gym and a nice pool. The spa itself had saunas, jacuzzis and plenty of spots to unwind, though the upbeat pop music in the relaxation area made it hard to relax. 😂 My room was clean and nicely decorated, with a comfortable bed, but it was small. On a hot summer night it got uncomfortably warm, since there was no air conditioning or central cooling.
