We stopped by for lunch in summer, and it seemed like half of Olofstrom had the same idea. The food is inexpensive, tasty home cooking, served in pleasant surroundings. Nothing fancy, just good, straightforward food. You'll need Swedish, though most people understand English.

The campsite had good facilities and a nice beach, but check the price carefully if you go. They charged us twice the amount we paid at other campsites, even though there were three of us in one car and we had two small tents, one for one person and one for two. Other sites charged us as if we had one larger tent, which would take up the same space. It's hard to know the final cost before checkout, so be aware that their pricing doesn't follow the usual camping model.

I came here 35 years ago and had a great time. It was disappointing this time. The site itself is basically okay, but the shower is awful, the restaurant shuts at 19:00, and the management left a bad impression. It felt like they just wanted to make money without doing the work. We said we'd stay two nights but left after one. They still wanted to charge us for both, saying management had told them to do that. Wow. I'd camp somewhere else and come here just to swim.

It's a beautiful campground in the middle of a nature reserve, but the weeklong renovation during our holiday in mid-July made the stay miserable. Big excavators started up at 7 every morning to work on the beach, and large wheel saws cut asphalt right next to our tent and caravan. Regular upkeep like mowing is understandable. Major work during peak season isn't. I couldn't hear the birds in the morning over the machinery, and at night screaming Danes kept us awake until nearly midnight while the owner did nothing. The nice facilities couldn't make up for it. This went on all week.
