Elite City Hotel Orebro

Breakfast was really good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It's a handy spot for visiting the old town, though the rooms are a bit small.

The restaurant was a real plus, with fresh food and a good selection. It's also about a seven minute walk from the southern train station, which made getting around for travel convenient. Room quality was comfortable, though the bathrooms could use modernization and air conditioning in the rooms would be welcome.

Within a couple of hours of getting into my room, I spotted two bed bugs crawling on the bed. I packed up straight away and asked to move. They agreed, but I had to go downstairs a second time because the key hadn't been reassigned to the new room. The staff member who helped was polite, at least. I would've changed hotels altogether if I hadn't been travelling with a group. Earlier that evening, a block or two away on the street, I also found what looked like crack cocaine in a bag. I can't recommend this hotel or city to travellers.

The location is good and the staff are friendly, but that's about all I can praise. My room was very basic and not especially clean. Dogs in the next room barked and howled, and the hotel accepts pets. Breakfast looked appealing, but cleanliness was an issue there too. I had to wash my coffee cup and cutlery before using them. I'm not a fussy traveller, but I'd look elsewhere next time.
