Orsa Järnvägshotell

I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels, and this is one of the best. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the staff were super friendly. I also loved being able to order fried eggs instead of scrambled.

The breakfast was what won me over to five stars. There was plenty to choose from, the quality was really good, and everything was served safely during the ongoing covid crisis. The rooms are generous and spacious, and since the hotel has just been renovated, everything feels crisp and perfectly clean. I did think about giving four stars because there’s not much furniture in the rooms, with no proper closet or luggage stand. I hope the owners keep it in this shape. I’d recommend it, especially for a short stay or a stop along the way.

The dining hall, restaurant, and bar added a lot to the atmosphere, so it was a shame they closed at night. We liked the clean, stylish room and the easy code entry and key pickup, even though we didn’t see any staff before breakfast. The location was great and the breakfast buffet was good. Our superior room was spacious, but I expected it to feel cosier. The adjustable, handicap friendly bed was super comfortable, though we would have preferred a standard queen or king size.

A clean, nicely renovated hotel with good food, and the Friday/Saturday quiz with the locals was great 🤩. We’ll be back…
