First Camp Gunnarso

Set among the trees right by the sea, this is a magnificent spot. The cabins have plenty of space between them, so you get privacy, and it’s pet-friendly, which is handy if you’re travelling with furry friends. The cleaning in our cabin could’ve been a little better, though it wasn’t bad. Recommended!

There are lots of fish to watch, and the water is easy for small kids to play in. The beach was a little dirty, though. It’s a really good place for families, and almost all the pitches have a sea view. Toilets and showers were extremely fresh. The service facilities can be a few minutes’ walk away. The restaurant pizza was edible, but nothing special.

For our group of six travelling from another country, the campsite was a bad experience. The website said tent pitches had electricity, but at reception we were told there weren’t any, so we had to take a regular one. Looking at the map, there was only ONE tent pitch with electricity, despite the website describing tent PLACES. The pitch and parking area were both awful. The parking space was on top of a rocky cliff and had no room left. Our tent spot was rocky, uneven, cramped, and partly blocked by trees. When we went back to say there wasn’t enough space, the receptionist asked for our pitch number. No one had given us one or explained that, and the tents seemed to be scattered without numbers or order. The woman at reception gave us a dirty look and said everyone gets a number, so we left rather than deal with it. They should update the website so it reflects what’s actually available, and be more helpful to paying customers instead of being rude about things that weren’t explained in the first place.

The facilities were great, and the campsite had a relaxing atmosphere. The lady working at reception on August 24th and 25th was especially helpful and friendly. Her warm manner made my stay even more enjoyable. I had a fantastic time and look forward to coming back soon!
