The cottages sit on a pier, so this may not be ideal with children. Bring your own sheets, pillows, and duvets too, as ours didn't feel very fresh. The toilets, showers, and wash area are small and dated. People from the guest harbor use them as well, so the cleaning was a bit lacking, though it didn't bother us. We're used to basic accommodation. We had a lovely stay, with a fantastic location and kind, accommodating staff at the restaurant. Room service from the restaurant was a great extra. Just remember this is a cottage, not a hotel: it has the essentials, but you'll need to bring anything else you want, such as towels or extra cutlery. Think camping and you should be fine.

The harbor was very dirty, with old scrap around, and it seemed to be mostly older people with caravans. We stayed just one night and have no wish to return. The toilet is shared by caravan and cottage guests as well as people who come to fish. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Most things were fine, but someone called the police on guests who were calm, considerate, and well behaved with their children. The showers are in separate buildings and are just about tolerable. The rudeness isn't.

It's a basic, calming place, probably not a teenager's dream. Still, staying in the cabin with its sea and shipyard view, then eating at the luxurious restaurant, made for a nice contrast.
