We had a three-course lunch for 15 people, with lots of dietary requirements, and they handled everything perfectly. The food was amazing and the wine superb. It's super cozy, with a fireplace burning as we came into the hallway. The open kitchen adds a nice atmosphere, and the views are great. The traditional and modern decor really suits the place and area. I'd definitely recommend it for food and wine. Thanks for having us!

Dinner was a great experience, and I was pleasantly surprised by the range of flavors and dishes. The only snag was waiting almost an hour for our last course after a lot of other guests arrived. Still, it was a great meal.

Updated two years later: service has improved to a level that fits this kind of gastronomy, and the food has gotten even better from an already high standard. The set menus they suggest are stellar in both ambition and execution. Very impressive for a place the size of Rättvik. Five stars well earned. The beautiful setting, cozy feel, and well-prepared food already made Bruntegården one of Rättvik's top spots. Service back then left plenty to be desired, an unnecessary drawback that could easily have been fixed.

The rest of my party really enjoyed their meals, but I was disappointed. I ordered one of the priciest entrees on the menu, at 455kr, and a quarter of my beef was inedible gristle. That's 113kr wasted.
