Wiborggården

We stopped for one night and loved the quiet countryside, the Swedish way of life, and the fishing during the day. In the evening it was so peaceful. The rooms are all wood and creak and groan, which we loved. The owners are very discreet. Breakfast was classic but homemade. Thanks for a lovely stay.

It rained for nearly the whole night, and the patter on the roof with all that idyllic scenery felt like a Swedish summer dream. The place is so green it almost looks cartoonish, with chickens roaming the yard and farms, greenhouses, and flowers everywhere. The nature around here feels like a little paradise. There's also a very friendly cat who lets you pet it. We could bring our own animals, as long as they stayed off the furniture, which makes complete sense. The rooms felt cozy, airy, and well cared for. You need to bring bed linen or pay for a set. Everything else felt fresh. Not every room has a private bathroom, but there's a toilet and shower nearby. The little kitchen for preparing and storing your own food also has a shower cabin and the entrance to the sauna, which felt a bit funny. Breakfast was small but good. There were no vegetarian or vegan options, even though we'd mentioned that need over the phone. The jam might have been vegan, but there was no ingredient list to check, so we couldn't tell. The bread and coffee were both very good. Service is the one thing I'd mark down a little. A nice guy showed us around the area, but later that evening his wife didn't seem as happy to deal with us. Of course people can be stressed or tired, but when my three-year-old son curiously lifted a tablecloth to see the breakfast things underneath, she scolded him, which I felt was a bit unnecessary. You can tell a child off, but say it firmly without being rude. On the other hand, she was very nice at breakfast when we praised the bread and coffee. I'm a fat person, and I can recommend this bed and breakfast to other fat people too. There's plenty of space, good beds, and comfortable furniture indoors and out. Many rooms are up stairs, though there is at least one room on the ground floor.

Breakfast was served, and there’s a shared toilet, shower, and kitchenette. The farm has dogs, cats, and chickens. It’s a cozy, rural place outside Rättvik, though you have to get out to Wiborgsgården in Boda Kyrkby.

The rooms get drafty and cold unless it’s + 20 outside. I found the people running the place frightening and the way they treated people very bad. They discourage organic and alternative medicine to an extreme degree, even though they keep local produce and their own laying hens. They may demand payment more than once and threaten debt collection even after someone has paid. They’re fake and unreliable, with nothing to recommend. They’ll walk over corpses, so to speak, for their own gain in every conceivable way.
