Säffle Suites - By Svaneholm Hotel

We ended up choosing campsites for the nights instead of staying there, after finding two apartments in such a state. The first one smelled disgusting, had used towels in the bathroom, and one half of the bed looked as if someone had just got up. After we called, we were directed to another apartment in the same house, 3a, but it smelled even worse. There was a stain on the upper left of the bed sheet, and the refrigerator was dirty and still had the previous tenant's food inside. We agreed with the gentleman on the phone to cancel free of charge, but we're still being charged because they told booking.com we'd used the apartment. We can prove we didn't. It doesn't look like this in any of the rooms, quite the opposite!

The accommodation was big and cheap. I had good contact with the staff and was just happy with my stay.

We left without staying and booked a hotel instead. The listing photos didn't match the apartment at all, and the description was misleading. It wasn't a suite or even a hotel room, and there was no reception. It was a private apartment in a multi-family building where locals live, in a residential area with several apartment blocks. We wouldn't have felt comfortable parking a car with foreign plates there. The whole experience felt more like staying in a stranger's private place than in professionally run accommodation.

It's an apartment in a very basic multi-family housing complex, not a suite or a hotel.
