Winter brings a beautiful setting, though most of the buildings are closed then. You can still visit lots of little houses from different places and get a feel for how people lived. The spa is great, with a real adult playground feel. The staff are friendly, and when we politely asked, the restaurant had no trouble making vegan food.

The smell was a problem too 😖😖😖😖. I couldn’t relax here at all. The pool looked old and the water seemed dirty, so I didn’t want to try it. The outside area also felt old and neglected. The whole place reminded me of a school camping trip, and the two beds pushed together were just two singles, not a twin bed. In the bathroom, the soap dispenser was stuck to the sink and hard to use, and there were germs inside the toilet. The apartment style might feel nostalgic to some people, but I can relax somewhere cleaner and tidier than my own home, not somewhere several degrees worse. The old design itself isn’t the problem, it’s the trash and the stale, unclean feel. Other people seem to have enjoyed it, but if you’re looking for the same things I am, this won’t be a relaxing place for you. The price didn’t feel remotely justified either. We paid over 4000, and I think it was worth 2000 at most. In my opinion, look elsewhere. If the owner wants to charge that much, they should put in the work to earn it. There was noise from outside and the road as well. They could start by renovating the windows, then sorting out the messy bathroom and getting proper beds. The plastic flooring and plastic plants behind the windows didn’t help, and the pool needs a complete renovation to create a genuinely calm, relaxing setting. Please don’t charge people for something you haven’t put the work into.

The spa was lovely and relaxing, though it had only a limited choice of treatments. There were also lovely little local shops selling handmade things, and the food was amazing. The landscape is beautiful and haunting.

It’s a quiet, pleasant place, and the staff at both the spa and restaurant were really friendly. The small village has picturesque old wooden houses. It’s also an old traditional health center where people came to drink the special "brunn" water.
