The tables around us were left dirty even though the restaurant was only about 30% full, and our dessert arrived with us still eating off old, dirty plates. Service was lacking throughout. The Mother’s Day set menu was a disaster. The portions were tiny for something advertised as a “brunch.” The pavlova was supposed to come “with berries,” but had just one raspberry and canned, ready-made cream. It was so tough I couldn’t cut it. Champagne glasses were filled only halfway, and everyone got different amounts. For what the restaurant claims to be, I expected more. The food felt really cheap, like prepackaged things from ICA. It might work for an ordinary supper, but I wouldn’t come here to celebrate. The staff didn’t seem trained to any standard.

The hotel is in a great spot, with easy parking and Sigtuna’s charming shopping and dining street close by. Breakfast tasted good, but we came at 9:30, still during breakfast hours, and much of the buffet was gone. The hot food was completely empty, and several cold items were almost finished. At this price, the buffet should be replenished until closing. Our second room was lovely, with a beautiful view, and we appreciated the air conditioning. But bathrobes and slippers were missing, which are usually standard for this room category. We’d booked a superior room, but the first one was noticeably smaller than the website photos suggested. The bathroom was cramped, and there was no separate sitting area with a table and chairs. The pictures showed more space and a bathtub. After we raised it with reception and showed them the photos, we were eventually moved to a room that matched what we expected. The difference was significant, so it left us wondering whether the first room was really a superior room. Mistakes happen, but it would have been better to acknowledge the issue instead of acting as if nothing was wrong. There’s a lot going for this hotel, but the experience lacked consistency. More attention to detail and honest communication would help it live up to the luxurious image it presents.

A cozy, clean little hotel with friendly service and a good breakfast. The rooms are small but have AC, and it’s good value for the price. Great location by lake Mälaren. Well worth a visit!

We arrived after midnight, so I called ahead and the hotel left our keys on the porch under a flowerpot. Much appreciated. Breakfast was excellent, and the village is lovely for a walk. Perfect place.

Our cod fish was absolutely delicious and arrived on time. The lady who served us was really warm and friendly, and spoke very good English. It’s a beautiful location and a nice hotel spot with a decent restaurant. A bit pricey, but worth it. Unfortunately I didn’t manage to take a photo of the food.
