First Hotel Statt

After paying twice as much in Jokkmokk, this place felt like the best hotel value within a four-hour radius. The price is what brought us here, and breakfast made it even better: pancakes, eggs, bacon, fruit, smörgås, oats, smoothies, plus genuinely good tea and coffee. Our modern room had Chromecast, Wi-Fi, a hair dryer, and a new bathroom. We also had a courtyard view and cheap overnight parking.

Linia at the front desk made me feel welcome and was helpful as soon as I arrived. The room was very comfortable, and I could properly unwind after long days out. Breakfast had plenty to choose from and tasted great, and the sauna downstairs was a nice way to relax. There’s self-service laundry too, just ask at the counter for access. Across the road, the gym is open 24 hours for a small fee. I had a great stay at Comfort Hotel Skellefteå and would recommend it when visiting Skellefteå.

There’s a nice riverside park beside the hotel, with shops and grocery stores nearby. The hotel is central, and my basic room was spacious. Breakfast was a good Scandinavian spread. During the summer heatwave, though, I really missed having air conditioning in the room.

The rooms and breakfast were fine and well looked after. Parking was the hassle, since you have to pay to use a public parking lot.
