The Wood Hotel by Elite, Spa & Resort

What a view from the windows! The rooms are exceptionally quiet, clean and comfortable, with everything you need. The building makes an impression from outside and fits the city beautifully. There's also a cozy, relaxing spa with a pool overlooking the skyline, and the food is fantastic. The location is excellent. You have to see this place to understand what I mean. It was our first stay, but definitely won't be our last.

We usually stay in a standard room here, and those rooms are very nice. Since it was Christmas, we decided to treat ourselves to a suite, our first time staying in one. We weren't impressed. Friends who'd stayed in a suite had led us to expect more, but the only difference from a standard room was a small seating area with no TV. It was a little bigger, of course, but felt more like a family room than a luxury suite. We'd booked two nights but left after the first because we were disappointed. The second night was non-refundable, which I knew when I booked, so that's not an issue. It was a busy period, so maybe this was all they had left. Even so, we'll keep using the Elite chain.

We had a spacious, very clean room on a top floor, with an amazing view and an extremely comfortable bed. Breakfast was very good and had a nice selection, and there’s a great restaurant downstairs for dinner. Everything felt cozy and well maintained. A few things let it down: the windows couldn't be opened, so the air felt a bit dry at times, and the shower gel and shampoo bottles were empty and hadn't been replaced. The hotel also has no parking of its own, which can be inconvenient when you're travelling by car.

The wood and all the lovely little details make the hotel feel really cozy and fresh. The rooms have great ventilation, so you wake up to fresh air. Nice spa too, and a luxurious feel overall. We'll be back soon 👌
