Best Western Hotell SoderH

We picked this hotel for a one-night stop on our way south since it’s easy to reach from the E4. The building doesn’t make much of an impression from outside, but there’s a gym, sauna, pool and restaurant/bar. The pool is a bit small and the area smelled slightly, though it did the job, especially with the sauna. Check-in was simple and the staff were friendly. Our room was roomy, the bed was comfortable, and tea and milk were provided. There wasn’t a mini fridge, though, and the bathwater only got lukewarm. We really liked the cozy restaurant. The Euro championship was on while we were there, and the menu had interesting choices. You could add salads from the buffet to any dish, and they were very good. Dinner prices felt especially good for how much food you got. Breakfast was included, with lots to choose from, and kept us going for the drive. Granngården is right next door too, handy for gardening supplies or something for your furry friends, if you need them.

The room was clean and fresh smelling, though the bathroom looked old. It wasn’t bad enough to make me complain. Breakfast was a nice buffet with plenty of juices, including ginger shots, tomato juice and smoothies. There were thoughtful touches around the hotel too, like flowers, decorations and lit candles. Good value for the money.

We felt safe and welcome here as an LGBTQ+ family, and seeing the pride flag helped put me at ease. The staff were great and made sure we had a fun time. We liked the food, especially the dinner value for how much you get, and breakfast was lovely too. Those little muffins were a hit. We’ll be back!

The internet was almost unusable, and after we complained, nobody responded or tried to fix it. The general quality, standard and cleanliness also left a lot to be desired. The hotel is easy enough to find, and breakfast starts early, which works well if you need to get to work on time. But the restaurant is closed on Sundays, and you can’t even get a beer. In Austria or Germany, nobody would stay somewhere like this.
