We left without using the room and contacted Expedia straight away to ask for a refund. When we finally got inside, an insect crawled out of the pillow. Getting in had already been a problem: nobody was there when we arrived, and we waited outside for over 15 minutes with the door locked. There was an intercom, but no one answered. No staff, no communication. This was completely unacceptable and unhygienic. Never again.

This place is minimal, practical and cheap, with a personal, intercultural feel. There are no windows, but the shared kitchens are proper, and the toilets and bathroom weren’t busy. The beds and shelves are good, and there’s room to unpack instead of living out of a bag. The host was flexible about adding furniture and helped with laundry and coffee. Even with few staff members, things run smoothly. It suited me as a quiet base for a focused long stay, despite being fairly central. It could work well if you want to get away from city noise, avoid outside stress, keep to yourself and be more anonymous, or spend your time exploring the area, looking for jobs or apartments, checking out venues, or being with friends, for business, or with someone special. It won’t suit everyone, but it’s worthwhile for many. The neighborhood is close to the city center, next to a good dentist, a nice convenience store, some restaurants, and an excellent kinesiology practitioner who offers chiropractic treatment, acupuncture, TENS, shockwave therapy and massage.

I waited outside for more than 30 minutes before 5. The guy at reception was rude and not much help. There were no towels in the room, and the pillows weren’t even a normal size.

The room itself was reasonably good, but the bed linen seemed unwashed or dirty, and the service has been a bad experience from start to finish. I paid on the website but got no receipt or booking confirmation. Then the hotel manager came into my room without being asked. That was very impolite and ignored my privacy. I’m never coming back.
