Hotell Nämforsen

It’s a nice place with delicious food and friendly staff. Sometimes there’s good music too, so it’s enjoyable to come for more than just the food.

The restaurant food is mostly deep-fried, and there was an oily smell throughout the hotel. Our meal was meant to come with béarnaise and aioli, but the plate had bowls of hamburger dressing and barbecue sauce instead. The food was good, just not right. They’d also forgotten to order beer and wine in time, so that weekend the only alcoholic options were cava, Guinness, and Briska, unless you wanted something non-alcoholic. The location in the village is good, but the place looks worn and the entrance isn’t very welcoming. The English-speaking staff were nice, though amateurish. Our room was cramped, with a fresh bathroom and shower, but it was somewhat untidy: hair in the drain strainer and on the shower wall, gravel on the carpet by the bed, and a cracked beetle under the pillow. The room was insanely hot despite it being about 15 degrees outside. We first thought the radiator was on, but the tin roof right outside seemed to be soaking up the sun.
