Sorsele River Hotel

For about 130kr, the lunch buffet is all-you-can-eat, with coffee and biscuits included. The quality was okay for the price. It seemed like there’d be a nice view from the window, but it was dark, so all we could really see was the frozen river.

For 130sek, I’m going to pass next time. The lunch buffet at the hotel’s restaurant was potatoes and bacon with sauce, plus some vegetables, mostly potatoes, and a few bits of meat and other vegetables. If you don’t speak Swedish, it’s better to look at the dishes first so you know what you’re paying for.

We got a lot for our money, and the food was great. Dinner was a buffet at 120 SEK per person, with salad and soup to start, then several main options including fish and shepherd’s pie, plus rice and other sides. Cookies and tea or coffee were available for dessert. We bought beers at reception for an extra cost. We were only there for dinner, but the hotel is nicely situated by the river, with lovely views from the dining area.

The river was frozen, so we ended up in an igloo 😂. After a busy day of ice driving, it was a perfect way to unwind, with an outdoor hot tub and cold drinks. There’s also an indoor smoking room, so smokers can have a cigarette without freezing their fingers off. Nice selection at the bar @snapkr
