The value for money was amazing for what we paid. We stayed four nights with our two children, ages 2 and 4. Staff were very friendly and engaging with the kids, and both of our connecting rooms were comfortable and in good condition, with good-sized king beds. One was a Superior Room with a French balcony and city view. The sliding glass bathroom doors do reduce privacy a little, but it didn't bother us. Breakfast was a great Scandinavian-style buffet. The stay also included traditional fika, coffee with sweet pastries, and dinner. Dinner was a buffet with one main dish, soup of the day, a substantial salad bar with about 5-6 choices, and fresh bread.

We were extremely happy with everything, including the three rooms we had for our two teenage kids and us. The hotel has gated parking right next door. Dinner was included, with a nice lasagne, a delicious soup buffet and freshly baked bread, plus drinks. The breakfast buffet was big and great, with fresh bread and pastries. The staff were the friendliest we've met on our road trip from Denmark to the Polar Circle and back. They were always smiling and making small talk with guests.

The staff were brilliant. The train station is a 5-10 minute walk away, and the bus station in the town centre is about five minutes away. The hotel sits right on the edge of Sten Standen, or stone town, and there's a very informative museum just two minutes away, especially if you're interested in the period from the 1850s onward. Absolutely loved it here.

The renovation doubled the cosy feeling, with maroon and earthy colors that I'm loving. The staff and overall ambience make the place feel very welcoming and cosy.
