Resort Yxenhaga

A peaceful spot for a weekend away if you want some quiet. There’s a small lake nearby where people were out canoeing, and the outdoor table tennis, basketball, tennis and beach volleyball courts made for fun activities. Jönköping is about 30 minutes to the southeast, with small villages, shops and restaurants nearby, though not close enough to walk to. The cabin area felt cozy and fresh, with modern cabins that could comfortably fit six. There were two bathrooms, one with a shower and washing machine, two fridges, a freezer, a small TV, a small balcony and parking close by.

The reception was shut, and although there was a number to call, nobody answered or got back to us. In the end we left the key with a cleaner working a few cottages away. The stugas themselves were clean and simple, but without a vacuum or broom, cleaning took more effort.

The cottages were clean, cozy and very well looked after, with all the amenities. It’s a lovely quiet place on the edge of the forest, suitable for a peaceful holiday as a couple or with children.

The cottages are tucked away in a quiet location, but the nearest supermarket is quite far. They need an upgrade to 2020+ standards, and service staff are basically absent apart from 9-10am.
