The food was really good, and the decor was lovely. The spa has some great facilities, even if the selection is limited: a small pool and no shared sauna. I especially liked the plunge pool in the lake, followed by a soak in the hot outdoor pool. The huge sauna and spacious changing area were also much appreciated. For the price, the spa felt expensive for the overall experience. My visit was also disrupted by a family with two children, around 5 or 6, who treated the whole place like a playground. While the parents relaxed in the sauna, the kids ran around and used the pool with goggles on. They were also eating constantly and leaving unfinished fruit around, which made a premium spa feel more like a food waste bin than a clean sanctuary. It’s unfair to guests looking for peace and leaves staff in a difficult position. Even with supervision, it didn’t work. Fjällnäs should consider a strict age policy or at least family hours, and really should be an over-18s destination to preserve the quiet, high-end experience it promises.
