From the cottage, the mountain is right there, and this is a lovely place for a family holiday. A 15-minute walk through mountain forest takes you above the tree line. Lill Skarven, at 1224 m above sea level, is 3.5 km from the cottage, with views toward Helags.

We’ve had some really lovely stays here when booking has worked. The place itself is very nice, but the booking process has put us off. For several years running, we’ve registered interest and heard nothing until we’d started worrying there wouldn’t be a place. Then, after we’d booked somewhere else, they called to say a cabin was available. We’ve given up trying now.

There’s a 3 km cross-country trail with lights right beside the cottage village, plus longer trails without lighting. We stayed here for a week of skiing, and Hamrafjället and Funäsfjällen are both about 15 minutes away.

The house is well equipped and surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery. There are lovely hiking routes nearby, along with canoeing, great cross-country trails, and wonderful downhill skiing. It feels like a proper mountain setting, with fantastic nature to experience. Give it a try!
