First Camp Karlstorp Halmstad

The tennis court's floodlights kept the area bright late into the night, and I didn't feel comfortable leaving my tent or things unattended. Locals used the tent area as a dog park, and teenagers hung around in the evening. There was hardly anyone around, and reception was closed even during check-in. Most of the showers didn't work. Another guest showed me one that worked, but it was dirty and the lights were broken. Very bad, I won't come back.

We paid 410 SEK per night for two people in a tent with electricity, and going without electricity would not have made it much cheaper. For that price, this place just isn't worth it. I don't know the other options nearby, but if you're looking to stay near Halmstad, I'd check other campsites first. They also started sending unsolicited emails to the address linked to my Camping Key Europe card, which was completely unacceptable. The facilities were old and not very clean. The tent area without electricity was nicely tucked among big trees, but the rest was wide open with no shade. Staff friendliness was below par. They weren't exactly unkind, but didn't seem in a good mood. This was probably the worst campsite we've visited in Sweden so far.

We spent six nights in a tent. On the first night, the neighbours partied loudly, and one person tripped over a tent line in the middle of the night and broke it. There's a security guard from around 9 pm until 2 or 3 am, though I'm not sure what he does. The toilets and showers could use improvement for the number of visitors. The place can feel cosy, then suddenly there's loud music and people partying and drinking a lot. The boutique sells some food, and the restaurant serves food and drinks. It's about a 35 minute walk to the sea. This place was okay overall.

The tenting area is nice, but there's too much noise. Kids were playing and screaming until midnight, then staff vehicles were driving around at 6:30 in the morning. Even in the quiet spells, you can hear plenty of road noise. I'm not coming back.
