Grebbestad Vandrarhem & Minihotell

The location is superb, and we had a comfortable couple of nights here. The rooms and kitchen were good, and the staff were excellent. We'd come back!

Grebbestad's little harbour town is right around you, which makes this a handy place to rest between archipelago tours and shrimp buffets. It's cosy and comfortable, clean and lovely, with pleasant staff, though not luxurious.

The rooms don't have blinds, so if you need darkness for sleeping, bring a towel or bedsheet to cover the window in summer. Parking is limited, but if you're arriving in several cars, you can rent extra space next to the hostel at a reduced price, 50 sek per 24 hours. The place is more or less by Grebbestad harbour, where you can catch the train to Tanumstrand and their after beach. Two grocery stores are right next door, with the usual restaurants and shops within walking distance. Inside, it's clean and has most amenities. The upstairs dining area is especially nice, with plenty of seating and room for your kitchen things, plus a few small balcony seating areas. It has what you'd expect from a hostel. The man who runs it may seem grumpy, but he's just a bit square and needs rules, without sudden changes. He can be flexible if you approach things carefully.

A clean place with huge shared spaces, two kitchens, and fridges. It's just 30 metres from the seaside walk. The owner is awesome, and there's a shortcut through the forest if you ask about it.
