Sahlströmsgården

We’ve loved coming to the restaurant nearly every year. The food and service were always great, and worth the 40 min drive. This time, though, we were turned away because dogs aren’t allowed. That had never been an issue before. We even offered to keep our tiny 2,5 kg dog in her transport bag for the whole visit, but they still wouldn’t allow it. What made it especially frustrating was that there was no information online about a new „No dogs“-policy and no sign on the door.

We had a great stay at this hotel with our two small kids and a dog. The rooms are beautiful, the kitchen is great, and the service was very friendly. I can only recommend the place and look forward to visiting again.

Lunch was excellent, and the room was very clean. Still, I’m giving it three stars because the beds matter a lot at a hotel, and these were too soft and really uncomfortable. There was no fridge or kettle in the room either, so we had to go out to the hallway and up to the second floor to find a water boiler and instant coffee. We stayed during the Covid-19 crisis, which surely affected the experience, though some of these things weren’t related to that.

The views are nice, and there’s a lake for swimming. The rooms are clean, fresh, and modern. Dinner was okay, but not worth the price.
