Palm Tree Hotel, Best Western Signature Collection

I may never have met staff as lovely as these. Monika at reception deserves special thanks. She’s a gem!

Very expensive. We weren’t told what time breakfast was. A young bartender said we could come eat, and later we were told she hadn’t said that, even though we’d been told breakfast was for only one person despite having paid for a double room. That felt very unfair. The administrator got angry about my comment, then came over to explain to her colleague that one customer was entitled to breakfast. It was rude to come and question my comment angrily instead of explaining the situation calmly. I’ve worked in a hotel myself and know how things should be handled. We felt very uncomfortable. We paid for the service and got what we’d call back home a slap in the face.

The harbor and central station are within walking distance, but the hotel is on a quiet side street, which makes it ideal when passing through Trelleborg. I stayed one night with my 4-year-old and we loved it. The atmosphere and decor were lovely, the breakfast buffet was great, and the personnel were super nice and accommodating. We arrived too late for the evening buffet, but the staff saved us two lovely plates of vegetarian food and were helpful throughout. We’ll definitely stay again when we come back to Sweden. Thanks for a wonderful visit!

The front desk staff were super nice, and since we had to leave early, they arranged a lunch pack instead of breakfast. The hotel is okay for a night while waiting for the ferry, but I can’t see how people would spend a nice holiday here. Our room was very small and had no AC. The hotel carpet is stained, and the parking garage is a real challenge with a mid-size sedan or anything bigger.
