Boet

Boet is a real little gem in Uppsala, set in an old wooden villa surrounded by a lush garden. The beautiful details and tasteful, personal, luxurious decor made it feel special. We had a lovely stay with good friends, and the staff were warm and welcoming, checking that we had what we needed. It’s a favorite, and I highly recommend it.

There’s no TV in the rooms, which makes the stay feel calmer, and everything was clean, fresh, quiet and comfortable. Boet feels more like a home than a hotel, with older and newer design brought together in a way that works beautifully. The materials are lovely, and the linseed oil paint gives the place an authenticity I haven’t seen elsewhere. Completely unique. It’s the nicest hotel I’ve stayed in, and I can truly recommend it.

I was on a business trip, and a rental bike would have been a good fit and an environmentally friendly way to get around. The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk from the center, and I liked the tasteful decor, comfortable bed, pleasant room and luxurious, home-like feel. But it was hard to get help: the person working there left right after check-in, with no reception or way to pass along requests. My work hours changed, so I wanted to eat breakfast there and have coffee. I was told that wasn’t possible because I’d already asked about takeaway breakfast. That doesn’t feel like hotel service, perhaps more like a hostel. The host also called to ask where I was when I arrived about 30 minutes after the expected check-in time, so be sure to arrive on time.

The room was lovely, the staff incredibly friendly and breakfast very good. It has a special mix of luxury and homely comfort, and it’s one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed at. Everything felt top class!
