My mother and I stayed here from October 13th to December 7th, and the experience was terrible, especially because of how the staff handled our belongings. The room was good and the WiFi worked okay. Those were the only positives. We'd stayed at the hotel twice before, and rented an apartment there in 2023, from January 31st to December 9th. The staff weren't like this then. Before leaving Sweden in December 2023 for urgent paperwork back in our home country, we asked the owner, Ayhan Cicek, through former employee Mr. Konstantinos Margaritidis, if our things could be stored in the hotel's basement, opposite the apartment we'd lived in that year. We told him we would be away from Uppsala and Sweden for a long time, possibly more than a year, because the situation was outside our control. He gave no deadline, and we agreed to keep in touch by email. We were abroad and never received any email about a problem. When we came back last October 2025, the storage room was empty. All our things had disappeared: suitcases, boxes, bags of kitchen utensils, winter clothes, and sentimental belongings. The room had been full to the ceiling; now housekeeping trolleys were there instead. When we spoke with the owner, Mr. Ayhan Cicek, his father, and the new staff running the hotel, they acted as if they knew nothing and shifted blame to Mr. Konstantinos Margaritidis, who had left in December 2024. We asked why nobody had emailed before moving our things. They said they hadn't received our emails because their address had changed. That was a total lie: when we asked a housekeeper, she gave us the exact email address I'd used for updates. This is utterly ridiculous and absolutely unacceptable. If they couldn't keep our belongings for years, as they later said, why was there no message or warning? That's when we began to suspect theft. We went to the local police and filed a theft statement. They said they would do what they could, but it might take months or even years unless there was strong evidence. We won't give up. We demand that the hotel staff come clean and tell us where our things were moved. Please be careful with these people and stay elsewhere. We found them rude and angry, unwilling to take responsibility, and it seemed to us they were trying to clear away evidence. Anyone thinking of storing belongings here should choose somewhere else. The staff and hotel were both mediocre. They need to tell us where our things are, or compensate us for the loss.

The first room was dirty and uncomfortable. The bathroom had mould in the shower, hair on the floor, grime around the toilet and an unclean bin. The mattresses weren't clean, lamps were dusty, and the walls were badly damaged. There was no air conditioning, and the window couldn't be opened. At breakfast, a woman used the same gloves to refill food, clear dirty dishes and serve reception, which seemed unhygienic. The food was dull: the only good things were the pancakes, nearly empty Nutella, and classical music. The tea and jam jars and toaster were dirty too. The salad was wilted, the ham smelled, and the bananas and cucumber were old. It looked like the food had been prepared the day before, with condensation on the jars. You could tell cleanliness wasn't a priority. After we complained about the first room, they offered another one, but that had its own problems: a dirty bathroom shelf, a shower tap that kept dripping, a very small bathroom, curtains coming down, dusty lamps, stained sheets, old mattresses, and a window that only opened about 2 cm. We paid for two nights with breakfast but left after the first and found a cleaner hotel with a better breakfast, for a little more money. For a night and a disgusting breakfast, this place isn't worth it. Think carefully about where you spend your money. To be fair, after I complained, Booking customer care handled it professionally and compensated me for the disappointment. I was surprised that this worked, though I can understand that some people might like this style of accommodation.

The staff were the best part of the hotel. They were friendly and helpful with our booking problems, switched our room so our friends could be accommodated, and even gave us breakfast early once. The breakfast itself was good, with a decent choice. It's about a 25-minute walk to the centre, with bus stops nearby and nothing much interesting around. Some rooms don't have towels. Ours wasn't very clean, and during the week nobody cleaned it, emptied the bin or changed the towels. There was no window, and by the third day the air felt impossible to breathe, so we had to leave the door open to the hallway. It was noisy, but earplugs worked fine for me. Thanks to everyone working there.

The breakfast was tasty and had a good range, and the staff were kind. The rooms are cramped and windowless, which is a problem in hot weather. The bathroom light kept switching off for no clear reason. The shower was annoying too, you have to press the tap over and over because they limit the water.

The kind receptionist, clean shared areas and decent location were the few positives. The rooms are cramped, and without air circulation the air gets muggy and can be too hot or too cold. The shower timer seems to last only about 20 seconds, making it unnecessarily difficult to take a proper shower. I don't think the positive reviews are justified.
