We really enjoyed our stay and would happily come back. The hotel itself is even more beautiful than the photos, and the huge grounds give you lots of room to stroll or play golf. The one snag was breakfast: it finished at 9:30, and no one mentioned that when we checked in, so we thought it ran until 10 like it does at most hotels.

We spent Valentine’s Day at The 1914 Bjertorp Slott Castle Hotel. The interior is lovely, and there are spacious, cosy spots to sit and unwind. The staff were warm and professional, with picturesque surroundings all around.

We’d expected more and left disappointed. The bathroom was dirty when we arrived, with a toothpick on the floor from the previous guests. On top of that, the sauna was out of order, which was especially unfortunate on a rainy day.

The rooms were great, with good beds, and both breakfast and dinner were very nice. This is a little castle with a pleasant history, built in 1914, and a nice place to spend a night or two. What I didn’t enjoy was three kids running and yelling the whole time. They weren’t ghosts, just children whose parents didn’t seem to mind that they were disturbing other guests. @moggedog

The staff were wonderful, the food gorgeous, and the setting beautiful. It’s a stunning Jugend castle dating from 1914. A few rooms could use some attention, maybe fresh paint or an updated bathroom, but otherwise it’s an amazing place.
