Strandvillan

The restaurant was a highlight for us. We started with tartare and salmon, and especially loved the tartare. The lamb and steak were both delicious, and the refreshing rhubarb dessert was a great finish. Of the raspberry, blueberry, and blackberry drinks, blackberry was our favorite, especially the foam on top. Breakfast had a smaller selection, but it was thoughtfully put together, with homemade bread, toppings, puddings, eggs, overnight oats, fruit, pancakes, coffee, and tea. The pancakes were our favorite. We were celebrating our sixth wedding anniversary with a gift stay at Strandvillan, and felt welcome from the moment we arrived until checkout. The reception and restaurant staff were kind, patient, and clear when explaining things. We had what we needed, and felt we could ask for help if anything came up. The spa isn't huge, but it was just right for us. There are two outdoor pools heated to 38 degrees Celsius, one larger than the other, and loungers outside for warmer weather. Inside, you can relax by the big windows. One sauna is warm and has a view; you can rub ice on your arms and legs while inside. There's also a cooler 55 degree sauna, with a place to put on a gold-speckled face mask beforehand. It has an aroma feature that sprays water onto the sauna rocks at the press of a button. Drinks and snacks are available to order, and there’s a seated bath with water jets from the wall for your legs and back, plus a handheld shower. Our room was clean, tidy, and nicely arranged. There was no TV, which suited us because we wanted to switch off and relax. The shower was great, and shampoo, body wash, and a very moisturizing hair mask were provided. We had a lovely overnight stay and would definitely come back.

The service was really good and the food was delicious. We’ll be back, and I’d recommend it to others too.

Dinner was fantastic, from the food and drinks to the service. Breakfast, though, needs work and didn't come close to dinner's standard. The adults-only spa is cozy and intimate. It's small, but has what you need to relax.

A luxury hotel is meant to offer a special escape, with a calm atmosphere and a sense of being well looked after. There may be a spa, pool, sauna, and gym for relaxing, along with a fine dining restaurant, stylish bar, and generous breakfast buffet. Rooms and suites are often spacious and well furnished, with comfortable beds, modern tech, large bathrooms with rain showers or whirlpools, and striking views. Some places also have room service all day and night. The welcome can feel personal, with friendly staff greeting you in a grand lobby decorated with materials like marble and glass and touches of gold. Comfort, elegance, and attentive service are what make this sort of stay feel special.
