Rokulla Pensionat

PENSION ROKULLA is seriously overpriced. We paid 120 € / 1200 SEK / 150$ for two people. It was very loud, with heavy old doors banging constantly, and the bathrooms were in poor shape. There were lots of children, and the two showers for more than 30 people were cleaned only once a day, so garbage, including diapers, made them stink. It took two, sometimes three or more tries to find an available bathroom, including a toilet. The rooms were also very hot, over 30 degrees Celsius. I didn't see the fruit trees, only sour cherries that had already been picked.

It's a guesthouse, so the overnight stay in a double room wasn't at the standard you'd expect today for 1500:-. There's no food service apart from breakfast, and the toilet and bathroom are down the corridor. The doors creak terribly and disturbed our sleep. Still, it's a cozy setting in a charming old, well-renovated house.

The staff were lovely and accommodating, and the place itself was lovely too. The house is very old, though, and during the hot weather we had, the rooms got sauna-hot. Fans would have helped.

There weren't enough seats, and I was very dissatisfied. I had to wait an hour and a half for the cake buffet because they'd run out of cakes, even though they'd only been open about 20 minutes when I arrived.
