Hotell Visby Börs

Visby Börs offers good value, and I'd recommend it. The building's history has been respected in the renovation, and the hotel was very clean. Beds were comfortable, the bathroom was small but nice, and the location inside Visby's walls was very central. Breakfast was basic but good. Our towels were left on the floor as the hotel instructed when we wanted them changed, but after housekeeping had made up the room they were still there. I'm not sure anyone checked the bathroom. It was also a bit noisy, with poor sound insulation and drunk people yelling at night. Since reception closes at 8 pm, there wasn't much we could do about it.

Update, April 2026: I came back for an eleven-night stay at Visby Börs and was just as enthusiastic as on my first visit. The whole team was thoughtful and helpful, with great suggestions for things to do around Gotland in the off-season, between October and May. The generous breakfast and remarkable quiet were lovely, too. I'll definitely return. On my first stay, everything had exceeded my expectations, from the breakfast buffet and the room's size and cleanliness to the service. The hotel is in a historically significant building, and its creative decor has real character, sometimes ironic and always full of surprises. Cineastes, ask about room 605.

The reception and breakfast staff were welcoming and helpful. The unpleasant part was an interaction with someone I assumed was the manager or owner. After we had made clear that we understood his concerns about noise, he treated us condescendingly and rudely over conversation-level noise. He physically showed us to "zip it" or we'd be kicked out. His manner changed noticeably when I asked him to speak in English.

The location is central, but our room was off the main building on another nearby street, and it was noisy. There were no dark curtains and the TV didn't work. Breakfast was average, and I'd skip the coffee.
