Fantastic Hotel

The swimming pool behind the hotel was the icing on the cake. The room was big and came with a fridge, table, chairs, and a TV, plus extra fast WiFi. I can’t complain, it was above and beyond what I expected. If it had 10 stars, I’d easily give it that 🤩☀️🏖️👍🏽

It’s in a quiet urban spot, with shops, a laundry, a pharmacy, and a parking lot nearby. There’s not much of a view, but the price is modest, so it could work if you’re here for another reason or plan to drive to see Saint Martin’s beautiful sites. The hotel is simple, but has what you need, even a swimming pool. You can cook something in the tiny kitchen in the room, and the fridge cools remarkably well. The staff are friendly.

The owner was really helpful when I realized I’d forgotten a few things, including an EU phone charger. He went out of his way to assist, and knows the walkable area well. It was a relief to have such caring, attentive ownership on site. I’m used to the very distant feeling of hotels in the USA, with little interaction, local knowledge, or assistance. The room was clean and had a great kitchen, and the grocery store is one block away. I was only there for a short trip, but would recommend the stay. As other reviews have said, it’s a quiet, relaxing gem and a very good deal for the island.

We had a wonderful stay and would love to return. The staff were warm and welcoming, and gave us exceptional assistance. We were also pleasantly surprised by a complimentary upgrade to the most luxurious room available. We hadn’t realized the hotel was closing on October 21st, 2023. A few of its restaurants had already closed, but we enjoyed a delightful meal at the Monachus Restaurant. The food was outstanding, with a good variety of dishes. We’d wholeheartedly recommend this as a place to unwind and relax. Our stay left us with wonderful memories.
