Aqueen Hotel Paya Lebar

I liked the rooms, and the bed and pillows were really comfortable. It’s conveniently located near an MRT and shopping mall. The rooms aren’t very soundproof, though, so you can hear people talking and doors closing. The front desk attitude could use some work. There were no smiles, just stares when you walk in or check out. I was also warned that I can’t use Singpass to check in next time, even though most other hotels accept it. That doesn’t make sense.

I had trouble finding a place when I arrived in SG because of the F1 Racing event, but I managed to book Aqueen and have really enjoyed my stay so far. The hotel is very clean, and the lobby smells great when you enter. The staff greet you warmly, and the rooms are in great condition with wifi provided. The location is convenient for shops, and there’s a fuel station with a convenience shop right next door.

The stay was disappointing. There’s just one tiny elevator, and the wait is always long. The soundproofing is extremely poor, which made things more uncomfortable. Our room wasn’t cleaned properly, and the amenities were so small they might as well not have been included.

The grilled Australian rack of lamb, potato croquettes and grilled green asparagus on the Christmas menu set lunch were really good. I loved it. The atmosphere is nice and cozy. I’ll come again.
