Garden Apartments Bled

The staff were amazing, always friendly and helpful, and the place felt clean and welcoming. I loved the hostel’s charm and vibe. There might not be enough bathrooms and showers for the number of guests, although we hardly had any trouble. Breakfast costs extra, but it was good.

A rustic hostel with a relaxed, homey feel. The owners were kind and helpful, and I’d recommend it and stay again. The bunks wobble quite a bit when the other person moves. I’d also have liked the option of a locker or safe.

I had a nice stay in a private room with a balcony. The staff were always super friendly and helpful, and the kitchen facilities were good. A bigger fridge or stricter fridge rules might help. It’s only a short walk to the lake, in a lovely setting away from the tourists. I’d definitely stay again.

The peaceful garden setting was beautiful, and I felt very much at home. The communal spaces are lovely, though this may not suit a solo traveller hoping to meet people. Many guests are interrailing or visiting Bled for outdoor activities, so people tend to cook for themselves and turn in early instead of going out for dinner or drinks. I stayed in both the four-bed and six-bed dorms. The six-bed room felt roomier and was laid out better, with useful shelves and hooks. There are only two bathrooms, so occasionally I had to wait, but it was barely an issue. There are no lockers, which initially put me off booking, but it didn’t end up bothering me. The people I shared with were careful to lock the bedroom door, and I was fine storing valuables behind reception.
