We nearly cancelled after reading negative reviews, but the hotel called us personally and explained that the reported issues had since been resolved. I'm glad we gave it another chance. We spent five nights there over New Year's. Hotel Triglav was built in 1906 and still has much of its original charm, with spectacular views straight across Lake Bled to the iconic island church. Breakfast was outstanding, and the New Year's Eve dinner was even better: an incredible eight-course tasting menu. The smoked deer was the best I've ever had. The restaurant's place in the 2025 Michelin Guide is no surprise, and it seems well suited to earning its first star soon. The whole team, from the kitchen and housekeeping to reception, were helpful and attentive. We felt at home with our two young children. My partner and I first visited Bled as a couple twelve years ago. Now that we've returned as a family, we're sure we'll keep coming back to Bled, especially Hotel Triglav.

The lake view is the big reason to stay at Hotel Triglav, so I’d make sure to book a room facing Lake Bled. Breakfast was generous, especially the sausages and homemade apple jam, and the free parking saved us from paying the steep overnight rates elsewhere. The building has plenty of heritage character and is well maintained, though it isn’t new. Water pressure was middling, and the temperature could swing from freezing to scalding within seconds without touching the tap. Be careful.

The quiet position on the less busy side of the lake was just what I wanted, and my balcony room gave me a beautiful view of Lake Bled each morning. That view was unforgettable. The vintage décor also fits the historic setting, and I tend to prefer this kind of characterful boutique hotel to a large modern complex. There’s plenty here for a relaxing stay: a pool, sauna, steam room, massage services, and a charming wine cellar. We also ate at Restaurant 1906, where the Michelin-starred meal was beautifully presented and the food was outstanding, with a great choice of dishes. I had a lovely stay and would happily recommend it for a peaceful visit to Bled.

We really enjoyed the restaurant, both for dinner and breakfast, and the staff were kind, polite, and attentive. Our room was comfortable and very clean, with a stunning view over Lake Bled. The stay went beyond what we expected, and we’re already looking forward to coming back for more sunrises from the room. I’d highly recommend it for a lush stay by the lake.

The walk from the village takes around 30 minutes, but the lakeside trail to Bled is lovely, so it didn’t bother me. The building has an old look and a sense of history, while still having all the modern facilities you need. Breakfast was great, with choices for everyone, from meat and eggs to salad and more. Five out of five.
