We had a lovely stay at Bohinjska Bistrica. Since it was off-season and too cold to sleep in our tent, we turned up without a reservation. The manager welcomed us warmly and found us a room that suited what we needed. Great value for the price, and we left our bikes outside overnight without any trouble.

The setting is beautiful and peaceful, and the host is always friendly and attentive. Nearly every room has its own bathroom, which is really handy. The beds are on the firm side but still fine. With a big group, it can be hard to fit everyone around the indoor table, and the kitchen feels a little cramped.

We had a really bad experience with the owner of Zotlar House. We booked for the wrong month by mistake, cancelled less than 24 hours later, and then went to speak with him politely in person. We explained what had happened and asked if he could return the money since we couldn't stay there. He said August was for groups, though we wouldn't have minded staying because we'd already paid. Instead, he wanted us to leave and wait for Booking to respond, even though we felt he was the one who should answer us. He came across as someone who cared only about the money and nothing else. I wouldn't leave my children with a person like that. Be careful when booking, because he doesn't return the money. Thanks!
