A relaxing place, with clean rooms and parking right outside. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a real treat, with an extraordinary presentation and a wide choice, served in the winter garden or outdoors when the weather’s nice. We felt the essential oils could have been used more sparingly.

We had a wonderful week here. The owner’s care for the little details really shows in the high standard throughout. The breakfast service was unlike anything I’ve experienced, and the sauna is a bonus worth trying. Highly recommended.

We’d happily stay here again after a lovely three days at this romantic, historic hotel. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable, and everyone on staff was incredibly friendly. Breakfast was the standout for me: delicious and healthy, with eggs cooked just right every time and a fantastic range of fresh, unsweetened fruit.

That cosy enclosed terrace looked out over greenery, old trees, and a meadow on a rainy, foggy morning. We’d chosen this place largely because of the breakfast and all the praise it gets. The food looked almost too beautiful to touch, with lots of fresh fruit, but there weren’t fresh vegetables or warm options beyond scrambled eggs or an omelette. I enjoyed breakfast, though I wasn’t blown away, and I’m not sure I’d return for it. The room was number 640, and the numbering seems odd since there are only 11 rooms. There’s an explanation on the back of each door. It was tall and had a mountain view. I wasn’t keen on how the bathroom was displayed; personally, I think a window door would make more sense than a curtain. The fireplace caught my eye when we arrived on a late October afternoon. It turned out to be double-sided, and the more private side was nicer, if you ask me. When we came back around 9 pm, nobody was in the lobby, but the fire was still going. I appreciated that they kept the atmosphere even with no one around to enjoy it. After a short walk in the cold, we had a glass of wine by the other side of the fireplace. We followed the first dinner suggestion shown at reception, and it was an excellent choice, though I can’t remember the name. The place felt sophisticated and elegant, with lots to like, but whether I’d go back is another story.
