Apartments Bovec House

The hostel is tucked away somewhere quieter, with open areas, terraces, and a lounge. The dorms were a good price, and I met some interesting fellow travellers. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The showers seemed to have a drainage issue, but otherwise everything was good.

Rooms were small but tidy, and the bed wasn't especially comfortable. The apartment had a huge terrace and a grill. It's about a five minute walk from the centre, so everything is close by. The staff were really handsome. They gave us information about canyoning, rafting, and ziplining, and helped us sort out parking.

The hostel was fine for the price, and the staff were nice. It was clean, breakfast was good, and there's a grill area to use. The views are beautiful. Still, some renovation could take the place up a notch, though maybe that's just the old man in me and younger people won't mind. I had a couple of niggles too: the room couldn't be locked, and we were in a six person room. If you're after an affordable hostel and have a big group, this could be a good fit. My wife and I stayed for a weekend, and we had very different experiences. She didn't enjoy it much, especially the bed, which gave her major back pain. She gets that if a bed doesn't have memory foam or isn't firm enough when there's no memory foam. She also wasn't keen on sharing showers and toilets. I minded that less, but I'm starting to feel too old for common rooms.

The three women working here were welcoming, and the rooms were clean. I had such a good time that I stayed for more than one night. Breakfast is great and free. I'd really recommend the hostel if you come to Bovec!
