MCC Hostel

They had everything ready for our bikes, and the beds were comfortable. Really friendly people and great service. Would definitely recommend!

The staff were very friendly, and I’d recommend a stay here if you’re not looking for much luxury. The rooms are decorated and clean. There’s a large, clean shared kitchen with everything you need, and it wasn’t crowded when I was there at 8 AM. The bathrooms are shared too. Parking is right in front, but weekday parking is paid.

Breakfast was the best part of our stay. The yogurt with strawberries was so good, and I’d recommend it. We also met the manager, who was really helpful and pointed us to the best places in Celje. Even with the issues, we had a great time. Thank you MCC Hostel! I was here for a two-week exchange with 10 students. Because there weren’t many rooms left when my school booked, all the girls shared one cramped room, while the boys had a double room and one of them slept alone. It’s a hostel, so we knew not to expect too much, but bugs eventually started running around our room. We had made it dirty ourselves, but hoped there’d be some housekeeping to keep it clean and prevent bugs. There wasn’t. We had to use the shared shower room, which I found uncomfortable, though that’s a personal preference. Our room was too small to fit its own bathroom, so we also used the public toilet. Another exchange group was loud and a bit of a nuisance, though that wasn’t the hostel’s fault. Near the end of our stay, I saw ants in the shower, which scared me a little.

There are great restaurants just a one-minute walk away. What really stood out for me, though, was the coffee shop/pub, with the best beer selection I’ve seen in Slovenia. I live in Ljubljana, and I’ve stayed in a lot of hostels around the world. This one was SUPER CLEAN, including the bathrooms. The kitchen had what I needed to cook, plus free coffee and tea.
