After a seven-hour drive from Germany, I arrived at 6:10 PM and was told our room had gone to someone else. The town was fully booked, and we were left with nowhere to stay. I can only guess they gave it to walk-ins for more money and meant to charge twice for the room. We’d booked two weeks earlier so we could attend a football match. The booking was confirmed, and they took our credit card details as security in case we didn’t show up. One of us went to check in at noon on match day but was turned away because check-in didn’t start until 3 PM. He then told staff we’d arrive at 6. I was ten minutes late, and they’d given the room away. Disgusting behavior. Stay away.

There’s a shaded kids’ area, and the large parking lot can accommodate buses. You can stop in for just a coffee or tea, or visit for food. When we went, the food was excellent, although the first service we received wasn’t as good. The restaurant is set in a very scenic valley along the old road to the capital, and it can host large groups and weddings. There are also rooms, massages, warm bath massages, and a spa. It seems well suited to large organized groups, including Chinese groups used to public baths and meals.

The scenery is lovely, and Celje is nearby, so it works for an overnight stop. But the whole building smelled of calamares, and the equipment needed repairs. The air conditioning made an awful racket all night, even when it was switched off.

A handy place to stop for a quick meal. There’s a nice playground for kids, plus seating both indoors and outside.
