We stayed in the downstairs apartment, one of two in the building on the hill, and loved the views for taking photos. It was clean and comfortable, with two bedrooms, a kitchen-living room, a bathroom, plus a glassed-in balcony and outdoor table and chairs. The beds and kitchen sofa were comfortable; we understood the sofa could fold out for sleeping, though we had enough beds. Check-in worked well for our flexible arrival: after we sent photos of our documents, the owner sent a code on WhatsApp.

Even with heavy snowfall, the road and parking area were cleared quickly. There are roadworks on the way to the apartment, but you can still get there. The house is in a lovely setting, and the apartment stays warm and dry.

We enjoyed having a table and chairs in the yard by the entrance, where we had a beer and took in the view of the old castle. The apartment itself is small, but cozy, with two bedrooms, and it's in a quiet, beautiful spot. Another apartment is in the attic, reached from the other side of the house, so it felt completely private. The bathroom has been recently renovated and the plumbing is in excellent shape; the kitchen has what you need to cook. Good value for money.

We picked the one-bedroom apartment for our holiday as a couple. From the balcony, with its table and chairs, we had a lovely view of the mountains, city, and castle. Parking is right beside the apartment, and Celje centre is about a five-minute drive away.

It looks a little improvised, but there's everything you need. We spent two nights and had no complaints. The place is comfortable and well furnished for a visit to Celje. It feels out of town, though it only takes a few minutes to drive in. Walking isn't really practical.
