Guesthouse Češnar

We really liked the place apart from a bitter problem on checkout. We were on a budget ski holiday and had brought our own food to save money. The booking didn’t say whether breakfast was included, so because the nightly price was good, we asked in person at least twice. We were assured it was included and that we wouldn’t have to pay. Then, five minutes before leaving, we were told breakfast wasn’t included after all and we had to pay because we’d eaten it. We explained that we’d checked twice and the misunderstanding wasn’t ours, but the man working there wouldn’t accept that. He said they had made a mistake, but we’d still eaten breakfast and had to pay. We were sad about how they handled their own mistake, which they pushed onto guests. We paid in the end, but it was shameful conduct. The breakfast charge raised the total cost of our stay by about 50%, which is huge. Other than the man who dealt with this, we loved the place. It’s a great location for skiing at Krvavec, a nice family-owned guesthouse/hotel, and the staff were really kind and friendly. I’d been sure I’d plan another stay, but after this unfortunate, bitter incident, I’ll have to reconsider.

The owners were extremely nice and welcoming, and the food was very good and cheap. The rooms are clean, though they can get a bit warm when it’s hot outside. I’ll definitely come back if I’m in the region again.

The trout lunch special was a whole fried trout with soup, salad, potatoes, vegetables, and dessert, all for 8.50 euros. We had a great time in a lively, friendly place with white tablecloths and a full menu. Highly recommend!

Everything was good, including the food and dessert. Three beers too, for €18. The service was friendly.
