Milka is a lovely host, and this is the best place to stay when travelling with a pet. It’s comfortable and peaceful, with good breakfast and excellent coffee. In the hot summer, the climate is soothing, and the cold Idrijca and Belca rivers are nearby. The natural swimming area at Lajšt is superb, and all the UNESCO historic sites tied to the mercury mining history are close. I’ll definitely come back.

It’s a very quiet place, perfect for a good night’s sleep while driving through Slovenia. The hotel is in a quite remote town, but the room was large, clean, and nice. There were plenty of TV channels, plus HBO on demand and GO. Breakfast lacked variety, though. Fresh fruit and juices, along with more sweet and savory choices, would have been nice.

The traditional Slovenian homemade food here is the best in the region, and the portions make it great value. We enjoyed watching the sunset, and the accommodation was decent too. Bartender Jan is a great local guide.
