B&B Vongola Izola

After a seven-hour drive on a long business trip, I had a hard time finding parking, and the spot was a bit far away. I reached the hotel around 11:30 pm. When I went in, there were a man and a woman behind the bar, both extremely drunk. They didn’t introduce themselves, and it took ten minutes to work out who I was and which room I’d booked. I don’t know if they were managers or owners. There were no guests, and the visitors’ entrance door was closed. I wondered if they were celebrating something. I stayed anyway, since I didn’t know the city or Slovenian and thought it would be hard to find another hotel. I had to leave at 9 in the morning. The same man and woman were still in the same state. They were catastrophically drunk and couldn’t stand. It took about twenty minutes to explain that I wanted to pay and leave. The woman couldn’t manage the payment terminal’s pin pad or enter my details into the system; she didn’t seem to understand what was happening or what to do. I paid by credit card on the spot, and honestly regret every cent. Breakfast was included in my booking, but they didn’t provide it and said it simply wouldn’t be available. I regret paying. My impression of the city, the hotel, and the people there is awful. I don’t recommend staying here. Look for somewhere else. I don’t understand how they can take guests and charge them like this. A disgusting experience, just disgusting.

The location made getting around Izola easy, with the bike rental right by the entrance and parking just a minute away. Breakfast is served downstairs in the bar, where the tables are out on a pedestrian street. Check-in and checkout took about five minutes altogether, and the price felt fair. The rooms are small but laid out well, with a shared bathroom for two rooms and four people. We had what we needed, including good air conditioning and a large shower. Breakfast and coffee the next morning were simple and tasty.

We brought our dog along without any trouble. It's a small, pleasant place right in the village center, about a minute from the harbor. The rooms were clean and nice, and the toilet and shower are shared with one other room on the same floor. Breakfast is served in the bar at street level.

Just a few meters from the sea, and the location was really good. The room was clean and nice, the Wi-Fi worked well, and we had no problems :)
