After days of hiking, we found San Simone Hotel in Izola a lovely, peaceful place to unwind. It’s a great mix of nature, beach, and beautiful views, and we had a really good stay.

The rooms were clean and modern, but about half the amenities were broken. The towel holder was damaged and the sink was clogged. The pool was closed in summer, despite what the pictures led us to expect. Breakfast was more about quantity than quality, though parking was free. This is a family hotel, so it’s not the place if you’re after a romantic stay.

The dinner buffet was delicious, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a great stay.

San Simon worked really well for our family of four with two young kids. The beach, restaurants, and different activities in Izola are close by. Our room was clean and of a high standard, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

This is a beachside bistro, but the hygiene wasn’t good. The chicken hamburger had been cooked ahead and just reheated, and a worker put salad in it with bare hands. There was a lot of marmalade in the burger too. Nearby, one worker was cleaning with a cleaner while another cooked meat.
