Guest House Kraljev Hrib

We hadn’t stayed at the facility, but stopped for food and drinks after hiking to the Vellika Planina. It felt like a real local experience. We arrived a bit late, yet the very kind ladies hosting us went out of their way to find food for us. We were truly impressed.

I stayed one night with friends, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place. It’s in the woods near the cable car parking for Velika Planina, but getting to the guest house means driving a few minutes up a two-way dirt road. The property’s small parking lot was full. There’s another area for vans and campers nearby. We waited for a while until a car left, then parked in its space. After that, some very impolite French tourists wanted to put their van where our car was, apparently with the owner’s agreement because they would pay a fee. They falsely told us we could put our car behind their van, which they said they wouldn’t move all night. We weren’t sure, but moved our car to help them, only to find it didn’t fit. The owner then suggested unsuitable places, including the middle of the road, saying nobody else would pass. After about half an hour, we drove back down and left the car at the cable car parking, which felt safer to us, then walked about ten minutes to the guest house. The French tourists and the owner saw the trouble this caused but didn’t offer to move the camper; they just calmly carried on talking as if nothing had happened. That was the thanks we got for trying to be kind. Dinner was also far too expensive: two plates of chicken skewers, one portion of cevapcici, fried potatoes for three, and one dessert shared between us, all for an unjustified €74, without a receipt. The room was very hot too. We had to wait until around 4 a.m. for cooler air from the woods to come through.

The mountain and wilderness view here is mind-blowing, and I’ve never seen a restaurant with scenery this beautiful. The fresh air makes me ecstatic, and the splendid, rich-tasting food brings me joy. The place feels tender and charming, like my own cozy home. Our waitress was friendly and kind, and the service was speedy. I also really liked the free table tennis and table football. This is an 11/10 place. I’d happily come every day if I could.

My family and I are having a great stay at Kraljev Hrib, and my kid loves it. The playground is really cool, and the food is awesome. The owner is so nice, energetic, helpful, and friendly. We arrived two days before our booking, and he helped us find another place to stay, which was also very nice. The location is perfect if you want to visit Velika Planina. I highly recommend it.
