Restaurants around town had few vegetarian choices, but someone at the information center pointed us here and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was good and definitely vegetarian, with no plates piled with baked or fried cheese. We had delicious sauerkraut soup, buckwheat salad, and cabbage and potato mash. I’d recommend it to vegetarians looking for dinner in Kobarid. Dinner is served 16:00-21:00, and before then you can get drinks, cakes, and other baked goods.

I’d come back if I could get the same price again. I spent two nights in one of the eco chalets in February, during the low season, and had no complaints. It’s a short walk from Kobarid, passing Napoleons Bridge, and Kozjak Waterfall is about a 30-minute walk away. The site is also on the Kobarid historical trail. At check-in, the friendly receptionist gave me a site map and helped me with the washing machine and dryer. Reception was open from 2pm-11pm during my stay, and she spoke good English. I’m sorry my Slovenian was so limited! The chalets sit above the main reception buildings, and two have parking right outside. My eco chalet was spotless, with good heating, plenty of bedding and kitchen utensils, a modern shower, towels, and a hair dryer. It was very quiet, and I seemed to be the only guest there. I used the camp laundry. Both machines are self-service and take tokens from reception. There’s only one washer and one dryer shared by the whole camp. They’re old, but do the job well. Some locals were at the small bar when I checked in. I think the restaurant and outdoor activities such as rafting, kayaking, and climbing were closed for winter. The small outdoor kids’ area, with swings and a slide, was open. The goats and cute ducks are there all year round, too. I can’t comment on what camping there is like.

The tent pitches are on rocks, so the ground is really hard. Apart from that, this is a lovely spot. The camp and its beautiful surroundings are kept very natural, with plenty of plants and animals, including super cute goats. The views are stunning, the staff are friendly, the restaurant food tastes amazing, and the sanitary area is good.

We were the only tent there because of the bad weather, but this is a beautiful riverside campsite. The private sauna was amazing, and the showers and toilets were good quality. Do try the burger, it’s the best I’ve had in ages!

We found this campsite by chance and were so glad we did. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the facilities stayed clean. There’s a bar with tasty food and generous portions, plus an electric car charging station that came in very handy for us.
